Seen - Unseen: Privacy

24 July 2009, we were having our ninth class of Integrated Studio I.  Today was a little bit different from the other class we had before. Why I said so? The reason was our lecturer for today class wasn’t Mr. Wan but Sir Dr. IIias.  Sir Dr. IIias gave us a lecture entitled “ Seen- Unseen: Privacy”.

From the title, I had a feeling that today’s lecture will be very hard to understand and may be it contained some philosophy. When the lecture started, honestly, I not understood what Sir Dr. IIias had said and can’t catch what he was trying to tell us.

Sir Dr. IIias showed us numbers of slide shows. The slide shows contain some pictures or cartoons of two boys and two girls. One of the boys was poor and the other was rich. So as the girls. Dr. IIias showed us how they changed after one year or a period.

When he finished the slide shows, I think I started to understand what he trying to tell us. In my opinion, he tried to tell us that we must be independence and don’t follow what other people had said or taught. In addition, he wanted to remind us about the hope of our parents who willing to see us success; not see us change our fashion style or personal characteristic.

Lastly, Dr. IIias wanted to analyze our own strengths and weaknesses.  From here, I realized that some of our weaknesses and strengths can be obviously seen but some of the weaknesses and strengths can be seen (unseen). This probably what is mean by Dr. IIias on seen –unseen: Privacy.
